1984 by George Orwell
My quote: "We are the dead," he said
"We are the dead," echoed Julia dutifully
"Your are the dead," said an iron voice behind them
Pg 221
I chose this quot because I was really startled when out of nowhere a telescreen spoke out when there was supposed to be none in the room. I also liked that quote because it changed everything in the book, in that one sentence you knew the thought police were coming for Winston and Julia.
The significance of this quote was that Julia and Winston were finally caught, and there was in fact a telescreen in the room that was supposed to be free of a telescreen.
